Foster Carer's Needed - Can you help??

24th September 2010

Partners in Foster Care is starting a recruitment drive. Three months ago our Partners Team were so happy to be able to say that the Service had doubled the amount of foster carers available to children in the South Burnett. Today we are struggling to find placements for children coming into care and respite options for those already in care.

So in an effort to recruit carers we are spreading the word. CLICK HERE to download a Partners flyer and we hope you will take the challenge to read this brochure yourself of pass it onto someone YOU think would be interested in fostering.

If you would like more information please CLICK HERE to get the Partners in Foster Care contact details.

Applying for specialist disability support

8th September 2010

Applying for specialist diability support in Queensland has just become much easier with the introduction of the new, shorter Request for Assistance form introduced on 6 September 2010.

The current single Application for Support form - introduced as part of the Growing Stronger reforms - was the first step in simplifying the application process. This form allows people with a disability, their family or carer to apply for support via a single consolidated form. People no longer need to work out which programs to apply for, or complete multiple applications.

The Department can also collect this information over the phone, so calling - on 1800 177 120 - may be more convenient and easier.

CTC Chief Executive Nina Temperton has extended her heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Board and all staff to Katina Leedie who has been selected as one of twelve participants from Australia to attend the Oxfam International Youth Partnership Conference in India later this year.

Mrs. Temperton said ‘Katina works as the Office Manager of the CTC Connections and Safe Haven site in Murgon and this is an honour not just for our organisation but the whole region.
