Bid for Our Councillors to Work a Day in Your Shoes

24th November 2010

Bid for Our Councillors to Work a Day in Your Shoes for Charity!

No matter where you are in the region, or what it is your business does, you will have the opportunity to bid for a Councillor in the ‘2010 Work a Day in Your Shoes Charity Auction’.

The highest bidder will buy themselves their very own Councillor for the day, who will see, do, and experience everything that you do in your day to day workplaces! So whether it’s cleaning toilets, packing groceries or making sandwiches the Councillor you purchase will be your employee for the day! Council and the Kingaroy Rotary Club have joined forces in an effort to raise money for Angel Flight, a charity that coordinates non-emergency free flights for financially and medically needy people anywhere in Australia.

The Council are finalising the auction details and more information will be released over the coming weeks. So be on the lookout and start thinking about what it is you may wish to bid to have a Councillor ‘Work a Day in Your Shoes’.

If you could ask the Premier one question, what would it be?

2nd November 2010

If you could ask the Premier one question, what would it be?

Would you ask about health? Education? Housing? Community services? If you’ve got a question about the services that matter to you and your family, now is the time to ask it.

During People's Question Time on Wednesday 10 November, Premier Anna Bligh will be answering questions on a panel alongside Treasurer Andrew Fraser, Deputy Premier and Minister for Health Paul Lucas, Minister for Education and Training Geoff Wilson, and Minister for Community Services and Housing Karen Struthers.

People's Question Time is a chance for you, your family, friends and networks to ask the Premier and Ministers about issues that matter to you.

Please get involved and spread the word. You can submit questions now or during the webcast and watch it live online at www.qld.gov.au/questiontime.
