Barambah Cricket Team Crowned Champions

15th May 2012

Hats off to the Barambah Cricket Club who were crowned B Grade Champions for a terrific 2011/12 season! South Burnett CTC Inc (CTC) would like to congratulate the team and acknowledge the Barambah Cricket Club’s dedication to promoting safe communities and taking a stand against domestic violence.

The club was proudly sponsored by CTC’s Safe Haven Service that provided the club uniforms promoting our message ‘Zero Tolerance against Domestic Violence’. To demonstrate their commitment, each player signed an agreement stating that they would not tolerate domestic violence and would model this within their community.

The team had a season of victory and success both on and off the field with the campaign demonstrating the benefits of making the right decisions in the community and the importance of safe communities for everyone. Together the team has influenced the community with their statement that domestic violence is not acceptable and helping people break the pattern of abuse. By taking a leadership role in the community and through their cricket achievements the team are setting a positive example for others not only condemning domestic violence, but violence in general.

They must be congratulated on their continued efforts and cricket achievements. Together they have vowed to continue promoting their strong message against violence in the community.

You too can play an important role in helping to stop domestic violence. It is not an issue just for the victims or perpetrators, domestic violence is everyone’s concern. CTC encourages everyone to speak out against domestic violence.

If you have a problem or need someone to listen please contact the Safe Haven service on (07) 4169 5940 for more information.
