CTC Day 2025 – Contributing to Community in Action

South Burnett CTC’s annual CTC Day will be held on Wednesday 15 October, bringing together more than 150 of our nearly 300 staff for a full day of volunteering and community connection across Nanango.

Each year, CTC Day gives staff the opportunity to unite outside of their regular roles and make a hands-on difference through community-driven projects – living out CTC’s values of Empathy, Integrity, and Collaboration.

This year’s activities will span multiple community sites, with teams supporting local schools, organisations and public spaces through practical projects including:

  • Karinya Retirement Village – garden weeding, chip bark, pruning, pressure spraying and outdoor furniture cleaning
  • QCWA Nanango – digging out and creating two new garden beds
  • Nanango State School – digging out a large area for a new yarning circle
  • Nanango State High School – painting two pergolas at the school library
  • PCYC Nanango – pressure spraying ramps, walkways, patios and digging out existing garden beds
  • Emu Parade (Pioneer Park) – rubbish pick-up and general clean-up of the park grounds
  • Nanango Cultural Centre – hosting morning tea and coordinating the dispersal of food and refreshments across all project sites

“CTC Day is all about connection – to our community, to each other, and to the values that guide our work,” said CEO Jason Erbacher. “It’s a day where our team rolls up their sleeves, gives back, and shows what ‘Contributing to Community’ really looks like in action.”

This year’s CTC Day follows another milestone for the organisation – the opening of the Nanango Neighbourhood Centre, expanding access to youth, family and community services across the South Burnett.

Staff from across all service areas – from Disability and Housing to Youth and Family, Foster Care and our social enterprise The Gumnut Place – will participate in the day while essential 24/7 services continue uninterrupted.

“It’s inspiring to see the care and pride our staff put into every project,” Jason said. “We’re proud to support the communities that support us.”

CTC Day 2025 is more than a team day – it’s a celebration of community, service, and shared purpose.
