From Care to Courage: Angus Using His Voice for Change

Behind every young person is a community of people who believed in them, supported them and walked beside them.

A few years ago, Angus’ foster carer bravely shared her journey and spoke about the importance of creating safe, supportive and caring environments for young people in care.

Today, Angus is helping shape conversations about the future of the care system in Queensland by speaking at the recent Queensland Family and Child Commission Youth Summit.

Representing both the South Burnett and young people connected to South Burnett CTC’s care and support programs, Angus spoke with honesty, courage and maturity beyond his years.

His story is a powerful reminder of the importance of connection, stability, support and having people who genuinely believe in young people.

South Burnett CTC would also like to acknowledge and thank our incredible foster carers and the dedicated team at Partners in Foster Care in Wondai who continue to go above and beyond every day for children and young people across our region. Their care, advocacy and commitment help create life-changing opportunities for young people to grow, heal and thrive.
