Training Opportunities

Becoming a foster carer is an exciting journey, and we want to make sure you feel fully prepared and supported. The training we provide is comprehensive and covers everything you’ll need to know to care for the children in your home, including behaviour management, understanding trauma, and supporting children through their unique experiences.

The ‘Get ready to Start’ training consists of four training modules covering:

1. Context of foster care

2. Understanding the paths for a child or young person

3. Early Days in a placement

4. Quality care – working together.

During these modules we will be with you every step of the way. We want to ensure that you feel confident and ready when the time comes to welcome a child into your home.

This thorough training is key to helping you succeed as a foster carer, but it’s also a great opportunity for you to learn and ask questions. Your commitment to this process helps us ensure the safety and well-being of the children in foster care.
