Foster and Kinship Carer Week 2026: A Time to Reflect and Say Thank You

As we reflect on Foster and Kinship Carer Week (6–13 June), we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated foster and kinship carers who provide care, support, and stability to children and young people across our community.

This year’s recognition week highlighted the invaluable contribution carers make every day. Throug

h their compassion, patience, and commitment, foster and kinship carers help children and young people feel safe, connected, and supported to achieve their goals.

Currently, there are 172 young people in care affiliated with Partners, supported by 95 foster and kinship carers. These figures demonstrate the important role carers play in providing safe, nurturing and supportive environments where children and young people can thrive.

During the week, carers, staff and supporters came together to reflect on the theme “We Listen… to learn… to grow… to connect”, recognising the importance of listening and building meaningful relationships that help children and young people feel heard, valued and supported.

Foster and Kinship Carer Week may have concluded, but the impact of carers continues every day of the year. Their willingness to open their homes and hearts creates opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop resilience and work towards brighter futures.
